. The actor Fred Solm was born as Alfred Salomon. He launched his film career during the German silent movie era at the end of the 20's. To his well-known movies belong "Die berühmte Frau" (27), "Der Meister der Welt" (27), "Dyckerpotts Erben" (28) and "Haus Nummer 17" (28). The arising sound film ended his career so far. Only in 1951 he appeared again in the film business, this time under the name Alfred Solm. As an actor he only took part in the productions "Abenteuer in Wien" (52), "Kopfstand" (81), "Ein wenig sterben" (81), an episode of the serial "Tatort: Mord in der U-Bahn" (83), "Dicht hinter der Tür" (84), "Morgengrauen" (85) and an episode of the serial "Tatort: Wir werden ihn Mischa nennen" (86). Beside it he also was busy as a director assistant for movies like ""Gottes Engel sind überall" (48), "Cordula" (50), "Wien tanzt/Wiener Walzer" (51), "Abenteuer in Wien" (52), "1. April 2000" (52), "Der Verschwender" (53), "Einmal keine Sorgen haben" (53), "Pünktchen und Anton" (53), "Echo der Berge/Der Förster vom Silberwald" (54) and "Drei Männer im Schnee" (55). For "Echo der Berge/Der Förster vom Silberwald" (54) he also wrote
his first script, it followed "Eva küsst nur Direktoren/Keine Zeit
für schwache Stunden" (57) and "Das heilige Erbe/Wer die Heimat liebt"
(57). For the last mentioned movie he was also responsible as director.
