. The production designer Emil Stepanek got an education as a stage painter where he was working till to his service for the army during World War I. He continued his career at the theater after the war before he was responsible for a film set for the first time for "Prinz und Bettelknabe" (20). In the next years followed other silent movies like "Die Tragödie eines verschollenen Fürstensohnes" (22), "Sodom und Gomorrha" (22), "Die Sklavenkönigin" (24), "Pratermizzi" (27) and "Champagner" (29). He continued his career as a production designer successfully in the 30s and he worked for the movies "Geld auf der Strasse" (30), "Purpur und Waschblau" (31), "Lumpenkavaliere" (32), "Scampolo, ein Kind der Strasse" (32), "Madame wünscht keine Kinder" (33), "Maskerade" (34), "Die Pompadour" (35), "Die Leuchter des Kaisers" (36) and "Burgtheater" (36). One day before the end of war in Vienna Emil Spenaked died at the age of 55 under unknown circumstances.
