. The actor Robert Steidl was born as Hermann Adolf Anton Robert Franke in Hamburg. He grew up in an artistic environment, his parent had an own theater. Therefore it was only a small step for Robert Steidl to the stage. His engagements led him to Berlin where he played at the Metropol-Theater and at the Apollo-Theater. He was especially successful with his satiric songs. Other appearances followed for operettas, beside it he also composed own songs like „Wir versaufen unsrer Oma ihr klein Häuschen“. it followed numerous disc recordings. He belonged to the film pioneers, his first appearance came at the end of the 19th century into being with „Nächtliche Hotelszene“ (1897). It followed other movies with „Auf der Radrennbahn in Friedenau“ (04), „Frühlingsluft“ (06) and „Prinzess Rosine“ (07). His last cinematical works were „Robert als Lohengrin“ (15) and „Das alte Ballhaus“ (25). |
