Hermann Warm

. The production designer Hermann Warm finished an education at the school of arts before he began his professional career as a stage painter. He already joined the film business in 1913 and he created the decor for the movies "Der Spion" (13), "Wo ist Coletti?" (13), "Der Shylock von Krakau" (13), "Pauline" (14), "Der Hund von Baskerville" (14), "Der Tunnel" (15), "Hoffmanns Erzählungen" (16), "Der Richter von Zalamea" (19), "Die Pest in Florenz" (19) and "Die Spinnen" (19). The height of his film career followed in the 20s beginning with the classic "Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari" (20). In the next years he was the production designer for many other movies, among them "Das Haupt des Juarez" (20), "Schloss Vogelöd" (21), "Der müde Tod" (21), "Phantom" (22), "Ein Glas Wasser" (23), "Der Kaufmann von Venedig" (23), "Der Student von Prag" (26), "Die Frau ohne Namen" (27) and "Die Jagd nach er Braut" (27). He was engaged again for numerous movies during the 30s and he worked for many popular movies of those years. To these productions belong "Dreyfus" (30), "Der Mann, der den Mord beging" (31), "Vampyr" (32), "Peer Gynt" (34), "Mazurka" (35), "Mädchenjahre einer Königin" (36), "Die Warschauer Zitadelle" (37), "Verwehte Spuren" (38) and "Das unsterbliche Herz" (39). His film career ended with the outbreak of World War II and a few laters he left Germany and went to Switzerland. He was able to continue his filmcareer successfully after the war and he created the design for "Wozzeck" (47), "Morituri" (48), "Die Sehnsucht des Herzens" (51), "Hokuspokus" (53), "Der Raub der Sabinerinnen" (54), "Hanussen" (55), "Dany, bitte schreiben Sie" (56) and "Helden" (58). His last cinematical work came for "Die Botschafterin" (60) into being. Other
