Oskar Wegrostek 1907 - 1972 |

. The actor Oskar Wegrostek took acting lessons by Fritz Blum and Rudolf Beer, afterwards he gained a foothold at the theater. First he appeared at the "Deutsches Volkstheater" in Vienna from 1931 where he remained active till to his death. Other engagements followed at the stage "Literatur am Naschmarkt" from 1934 to 1938 and at the "Wiener Werkel" in 1939. Other theater engagements followed at the Raimundtheater, at the Wiener Kammerspielen and at the Stadttheater Wien. He made his film debut in 1939 with "Unsterblicher Walzer" (39), till the end of war followed other movies like "Frau im Strom" (39), "Der Postmeister" (40), "Krambambuli" (40), "Sieben Jahre Pech" (40), "Reisebekanntschaft" (43) and "Schrammeln" (44). After the war he continued his theater and film career successfully. As a support actor he took part in movies like "Am Ende der Welt" (47), "Cordula" (50), "No Time for Flowers" (52), "Pünktchen und Anton" (53), "Mozart" (55), "Sissi - Schicksalsjahre einer Kaiserin" (57), "Nackt, wie Gott sie schuf" (58) and "Die Halbzarte" (59). Oskar Wegrostek remained active in the film business till to the old age and he impersonated roles in "Der jüngste Tag" (60), "Lumpazivagabundus" (62), "Schwejks Flegeljahre" (64), "Die letzten Tage der Menschheit" (65), "Peripherie" (69), "Der junge Baron Neuhaus" (71) and an episode of the serial "Tatort: Mordverdacht" (71).
