Hans Ziegler

. The actor Hans Ziegler took acting lessons by Fritz Herz and after the education he made his stage debut in 1898 in Bad Neuenahr. In the next years followed engagements in Koblenz, Essen, London, Frankfurt am Main, Düsseldorf, Berlin and Vienna. Hans Ziegler also took part in three silent movies. His first appearances in front of the camera was for „Das Apachenmädel“ (22), it followed the productions „Ein Walzer von Strauss“ (25) and „Frau Sopherl vom Naschmarkt“ (27). He continued his stage career at the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna after World War II. He also played again in movies. To his movies of the 40s and 50s belong „Der Prozess“ (48), „Der Engel mit der Posaune“ (48) – here he used the name Karl Ziegler, „1. April 2000“ (52), „Sissi – Die junge Kaiserin“ (56), „Sissi – Schicksalsjahre einer Kaiserin“ (57) and „Der Page vom Palast-Hotel“ (58). His last cinematical works came in the 60s into being, some of them were released after his death. To these movies belong „Donadieu“ (61) and „Die Liebeskette“ (63).
