Der Schauspieler Edmund Burns begann seine Filmlaufbahn Ende der 10er
Jahre. Nach ersten Filmen als Statist wie für "The Birth of a Nation"
(15) von D. W. Griffith, wirkte er bereits in seinen ersten Jahren in einer
Vielzahl an Filmen mit, darunter "The Slave" (17), "Diamonds and Pearls"
(17), "The Life Mask" (18), "The Ordeal of Rosetta" (18), "The Queen of
Hearts" (18), "Miss Adventure" (19), "The Love Burglar" (19) und "Male
and Female" (19).
Die 20er Jahre markierten den Höhepunkt seiner Laufbahn und er
verkörperte unzählige Rollen in Produktionen wie "To Please One
Woman" (20), "Opened Shutters" (21), "The Ruling Passion" (22), "East Is
West" (22), "The Dramatic Life of Abraham Lincoln" (24), "The Million Dollar
Handicap" (25), "Der Farmer aus Texas" (25), "Made for Love" (26), "Poor
Girls" (27), "Ransom" (28) und "She Goes to War" (29).
Mit dem Aufkommen des Tonfilms wurden seine Rollen kleiner und er wirkte
in den 30er Jahren in den Filmen "Sea Devils" (31), "The Shadow of the
Eagle" (32), "The Death Kiss" (32), "Female" (33), "It Happened One Night"
(34), "Cleopatra" (34) und "Murder with Pictures" (36).
Danach zog er sich aus dem Filmgeschäft zurück.
