Franklin Dyall

. The actor Franklin Dyall made his film debut in 1916 with "Esther", it followed the movie "The Garden of Resurrection" (19). Afterwards followed a longer interruption and he dedicated again to the theater exclusively. Only at the end of the 20's he continued his film career and took part in Alfred Hitchcock's "Easy Virtue" (28) and the Titanic drama "Atlantic" (29). In the 30's he became established as a support actor in movies like "Alibi" (31), "The Ringer" (31), "Men of Steel" (32), "The Private Life of Henry VIII" (33) with Charles Laughton, "Conquest of the Air" (36) and "Fire Over England" (37) with Laurence Olivier and a still unknown Vivien Leigh. His last movies were "All at Sea" (40), "Yellow Canary" (43) and "Bonnie Prince Charlie" (48) with David Niven. Besides his activity as an actor he realised the movie "Duke's Son" (20) as a director and produced the movie "A Safe Affair" (31). Franklin Dyall was among others married with the actress Mary
Merrall.
