1886 - 1975

Die Schauspielerin Margarita Fisher kam bereits als Kind zum Theater und spielte u.a. die Rolle der Adrienne in "The Celebrated Case".

In den nächsten Jahren erlangte sie grosse Popularität und schliesslich formierte ihr Vater die Margarita Fischer Stock Company, die für mehrere Jahre an der Pazifik-Küste tourte.

Dem neu aufkommenden Film blieb die talentierte Schauspielerin nicht verborgen und bereits 1910 feierte sie ihr Filmdebüt und agierte in "There, Little Girl, Don't Cry" (10), "Romeo and Juliet in Our Town" (10), "The Kentucky Pioneer" (10), "The Vampire" (10) und "The Squaw and the Man" (10).

Sie avancierte in kürzester Zeit zu einem beliebten Filmstar und sie verkörperte in den nächsten Jahren zahlreiche Rollen in Produktionen wie "The Mission in the Desert" (11), "The Portrait" (11), "The Trinity" (12), "The Return of Captain John" (12), "Big Hearted Jim" (12), "The Shadow" (13), "Robinson Crusoe" (13), "Uncle Tom's Cabin" (13), "The Wife" (14), "The Girl Who Dared" (14), "The Other Train" (14), "A Modern Othello" (14) und "The Quest" (15).

In dieser Zeit änderte Margarita Fischer ihren Namen in Fisher, da er sich zu deutsch anhörte und nicht in die antideutsche Stimmung passte.

Auch die zweite Hälfte der 10er Jahre gestaltete sich äusserst erfolgreich für Margarita Fisher und sie agierte erneut in einer grossen Anzahl Filmen. Dazu gehören "The Dragon" (16), "The Butterfly Girl" (17), "Robinson Crusoe" (17), "The Mantle of Charity" (18), "The Primitive Woman" (18), "Charge It to Me" (19) und "The Tiger Lily" (19).

Danach neigte sich ihre Filmlaufbahn schnell dem Ende zu, neue Stars waren gefragt. Zu ihren letzten Filmen gehören "The Dangerous Talent" (20), "The Gamesters" (20), "Beach of Dreams" (21), "Any Woman" (25) und "Uncle Tom's Cabin" (27).

Margarita Fisher war mit dem Schauspieler und Regisseur Harry A. Pollard verheiratet. Die beiden gründeten 1916 die Pollard Picture Plays Corporation.
