The actress Margarita Fisher was already active as an actress as a
child and she impersonated among others the role of Adrienne in the play
"The Celebrated Case".
She achieved huge popularity in the next years and finally her father
formed the Margarita Fischer Stock Company which toured several years at
the pacific coast.
Her acting talent was also noticed by the new medium film and she already
made her film debut in 1910 with "There, Little Girl, Don't Cry" (10),
"Romeo and Juliet in Our Town" (10), "The Kentucky Pioneer" (10), "The
Vampire" (10) and "The Squaw and the Man" (10).
She became a very popular star in no time and she impersonated numerous
role in the next years, among them "The Mission in the Desert" (11), "The
Portrait" (11), "The Trinity" (12), "The Return of Captain John" (12),
"Big Hearted Jim" (12), "The Shadow" (13), "Robinson Crusoe" (13), "Uncle
Tom's Cabin" (13), "The Wife" (14), "The Girl Who Dared" (14), "The Other
Train" (14), "A Modern Othello" (14) and "The Quest" (15).
During this time Margarita Fischer changed her name into Fisher because
of the anti German atmosphere during World War I.
The second half of the 10's was also very successful for Margarita Fisher
and she appeared again in many movies. To these productions belong "The
Dragon" (16), "The Butterfly Girl" (17), "Robinson Crusoe" (17), "The Mantle
of Charity" (18), "The Primitive Woman" (18), "Charge It to Me" (19) and
"The Tiger Lily" (19).
Afterwards her career came to an end, new stars were demanded. To her
last movies belong "The Dangerous Talent" (20), "The Gamesters" (20), "Beach
of Dreams" (21), "Any Woman" (25) and "Uncle Tom's Cabin" (27).
Margarita Fisher was married with the actor and director Harry A. Pollard.
They founded the Pollard Plays Corporation in 1916.
