1912 eroberte sie die noch junge Leinwand und wurde schon bald ein beliebter Star der 10er Jahre, u.a. mit einer Filmreihe rund um die Figur "Universal Ike".

Zu ihren ersten Filmen gehören "When the Heart Calls" (12), "Making a Man of Her" (12), "The Boomerang" (13), "The Quakerness" (13) und "The Invisible Foe" (13).

Die kommenden zwei Jahre markierten den Höhepunkt ihrer filmischen Laufbahn und Louise Glaum agierte in unzähligen Produktionen.
Erfolgreiche Filme dieser Jahre waren "Out in the Rain" (14), "Universal Ike and the School Belle" (14), "Universal Ike and the Vampire" (14), "The Panther" (14), "In the Land of the Otter" (15) "The Toast of Death" (15) - ihr erster langer Film, "The Renegade" (15), "The Reward" (15) und "The Forbidden Adventure" (15).

Danach nahmen ihre Engagements vor der Kamera ab, dennoch konnte sie in einigen namhaften Produktionen mitwirken. 
Dazu gehören "The Three Musketeers" (16), "Somewhere in France" (16), "Hell's Hinges" (16), "The Wolf Woman" (16), "Golden Rule Kate" (17), "Wedlock" (18), "The Goddess of Lost Lake" (18) und "Sahara" (19).

In den 20er Jahren entstanden ihre letzten Filme, darunter "Love Madness" (20), "The Leopard Woman" (20), "Greater Than Love" (21) und "Fifty-Fifty" (25).

Danach konzentrierte sich Louise Glaum auf das Theater, wo sie noch viele Jahre auftrat. Daneben schrieb sie auch eigene Stücke wie "The Web", 1935 eröffnete sie das "Louise Glaum Playhouse" in Los Angeles.

Louise Glaum war u.a. mit dem Regisseur Harry J. Edwards verheiratet.
