The actor Holmes Herbert was born as Horace Edward Jenner.
He came to the USA in 1912 and three years later he startet his versatile
film career.
to his first silent movies belong "His Wife" (15), "Her Life and His"
(17), "The Whirlpool" (18), "The Divorcee" (19) and "The ABC of Love" (19).
He became a very popular leading actor in the 20s and he impersonated
countless roles in movies like "The Right to Love" (20), "Her Lord and
Master" (21), "The Inner Chamber" (21), "Toilers of the Sea" (23), "Sinners
in Heaven" (24), "Up the Ladder" (25), "The Wanderer" (25), "The Nest"
(27), "Mr. Wu" (27), "East Side, West Side" (27), "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes"
(28), "The Terror" (28), "Madame X" (29) and "The Kiss" (29).
In the 30s followed again numerous movies in which in now often played
striking support roles.
