The actor Antony Holles already made his film debut i n1921 with "The
Will" (21).
But it lasted till 1932 till he took part in his next movie "The Missing
Rembrandt" (32).
In the next years he became a busy support actor and he impersonated
bigger as well as very small support roles.
To his well-known movies of the 30s belong "The Star Reporter" (32),
"The Lodger" (32), "Reunion" (32), "Nell Gwyn" (34), "Gentlemen's Agreement"
(35), "Brewster's Millions" (35), "Seven Sinners" (36), "Sensation" (36),
"Dark Journey" (37), "Dangerous Medicine" (38), "They Drive by Night" (38)
and "Down Our Alley" (39).
His engagements in the 40s remained limited to smaller parts and he
appeared in "The Missing People" (40), "The Spider" (40), "Lady from Lisbon"
(42), "They Met in the Dark" (43), "Schweik's New Adventures" (43), "A
Canterbury Tale" (44), "Caesar and Cleopatra" (45), "Paganini" (46), "The
Dark Road" (48) and "Bonnie Prince Charlie" (48).
His last movie was "Traveller's Joy" (50), in the same year he died
at the age of only 49.
