The actress Lillian Walker was a great star in the silent movie of
the 10's.
She already began her career in 1909 and with her contract with Vitagraph
in 1911 she soon became well-known and acted often together with John Bunny
in many movies.
To her first productions belong "Love's Awakening" (10), "The Inherited
Taint" (11), "In the Arctic Night" (11), "The Willow Tree" (11), "Cherry
Blossoms" (11), "The Great Diamond Robbery" (12), "Pandora's Box" (12),
"The Money Kings" (12), "The Reincarnation of Karma" (12), "Cinerella's
Slipper" (13), "The Mouse and the Lion" (13), "The Carpenter" (13) and
"The Right Man" (13).
In the middle of the 10's she achieved the height of her career in she
took part in successful movies like "Art for a Heart" (14), "Lillian's
Dilemma" (14), "Lily of the Valley" (14), "The Enemies" (15), "The Fire
Escape" (15), "The Ordeal of Elizabeth" (16), "The Kid" (16), "Indiscretion"
(17) and The Princess of Park Row" (17) in the next years.
In 1918 she founded her own production company "Crest Productions",
but her heyday was over, new faces were demanded.
She appeared in the movies "The Embarassment of Riches" (18), "The
Better Wife" (19), "The Joyous Liar" (19), "A Woman of No Importance" (21)
and "Serum of Evil" (22).
It followed a longer interruption before she returned to the film business
in 1929 with "Pusher-in-the-Face" (29) and in 1934 in "Enlighten Thy Daughter"
(34) - her only sound movie.
She dedicated her career to the theater in the 30's where she also acted
on Broadway before she retired.
