But her film appearances became more rarely in the 30's again, she directed her attention to the theater as ever. 
To her few movies in Germany of the 30's belong "Danton" (31), "Der Ball" (31) and "Madame wünscht keine Kinder" (33). She eventually had to emigrate to England because of the political situation in Germany. There she was able to continue her film career with single productions, among other with Alfred Hitchcock's "The 39 Steps" (35) as well as "The High Command" (36), "The Yellow Canary" (43) and "The True Story of Lilli Marlene" (43).

Lucie Mannheim returned to Germany after the war where she continued her stage career successfully. She took part in movies till 1970 as well. To her post-war movies belong "Nachts auf den Strassen" (52), "The Man Who Watched the Trains Go By" (53), "Gestehen Sie. Dr. Corda!" (58), "Der Eiserne Gustav" (58), "Arzt aus Leidenschaft" (59), "Beyond the Curtain" (60), "Der Kinderdieb" (66) and her last cinematical work "Cher Antoine oder Die verfehlte Liebe" (70).
